In ten, dad!! Jeesh.

Ok, I’m ready. Oh, wait, what is this? I thought we were heading out for ice cream.

If you planned or meant for this to be exciting, you miscalculated in judgment. You omitted to inform me that this would be another one of your cleaning tutorials. I deliberately pass on this session, maybe next trip home.😬

Thank uuuuuu. Love you.

And, thank uuuuuu.

Saturday Hallway ~

Saturday, I was walking down the dark and gloomy, no, just dark hallway. We have motion detector lighting throughout the building, but apparently, the movement of walking is not a motion that these lights, in this particular hallway, ever pick up on.

So, I was walking down this long, dark hallway and noticed this massive figure of a man, or beast, assuming man, down the way, nearest the door heading outside to the patio. The sun, oh how it shone through the large window glass door, so shining it shone. I could barely make out the blurry being, big and tall, down the hall I mentioned. He, it, was standing at the door, motionless.

I had momentum moving forward, so I kept on while wincing at the bright light that shone in my eyes. Oh, how it shone. I had my sunglasses on and hadn’t cleaned them since my sweaty run that morning, so that may factor a bit into the darkness of the hallway and the blurriness of this creature, but oddly not at all towards the bright light that shone in my eyes. Oh, how it shone.

So I continued slowly walking, slowly and squinting.

Ah, but as I approached this animal, why it was no animal indeed!  It was *Carl.  He’s part of the maintenance crew in our building.  Relieved and ready to leave, as I was on his heels, his face facing the outside, I said, “Hey.”

Now, keep in mind I hadn’t spoken out loud in a while, so … it came out as a creepy whisper.

I’ve never seen a grown man jump like that.

Not before and not since.

*Name changed to protect the innocent.

I wish I’d have been walking down the hallway like this.
