“If you can’t sleep, then get up and do something instead of lying there and worrying. It’s the worry that gets you, not the loss of sleep.” ~ Dale Carnegie

“A scholar tries to learn something everyday; a student of Buddhism tries to unlearn something daily.” ~ Alan Watts
Overthinking.
I can overthink anything, like triple washed lettuce.
Sounds great at first – then I start thinking,
3 times…
What happened?
Why are they cleaning it so much?
Overthinking.
It’s why I’ve been a vegetarian for most of my life. I don’t label myself as one. I eat whatever I’m in the mood for, but I never know when I’m going to get the visuals. When food comes to life in my mind.
So if I had to label myself, I’d say I’m an Active Imagination eater. Stamp an AIF food label on it and I’ll eat it. Active Imagination Free. This will NOT remind you of anything that previously breathed.
I stay clear of anything that still looks like it did when it was alive. Or even anything identifiable as a body part such as a leg, wing, or claw, etc. Especially if there’s an eyeball bulging out, or a divot where an eyeball once sat. If there’s even a fish tank in the room – I’m out.

Without a doubt, I steer clear of ribs. Whenever I watch people tearing off the flesh and sucking on the bones, I always feel like I’m watching a horrific nature show – up close – like an animal attack. Then they toss the skeleton remains on the plate next to me.
I don’t even try to talk my stomach into being hungry – it’s like – nope, we’re done here.
“Stop thinking, and end your problems.” ~ Lao Tzu
Yeah, I’m saying that to me.

“The turkey. The sweet potatoes. The stuffing. The pumpkin pie. Is there anything else we all can agree so vehemently about? I don’t think so.” ~ Nora Ephron

“You can’t be that kid standing at the top of the waterslide, overthinking it. You have to go down the chute.” ~ Tina Fey
That’s what I did when I started this blog. Not that I thought the world needed one more stream of info coming in or another voice calling out. I just had an impulse and went with it. I’ve enjoyed it so far. I hope those who are reading this have, too. I’m thankful to have a place to put together my thoughts and share them. I’m thankful for all of you. I hope everyone follows their impulses this week, next year and forevermore.
Don’t think, just go for it. It could be amazing. Or at least fun.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Ya know, you’ve had quite an attitude lately.
A song to start the week: Family by Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors on Spotify/YouTube.
Family, all four seasons
Family, well bless your heart
You don’t choose ’em, you can’t lose ’em
We all have a song to sing
Some are crazy, some are amazing
All got a little bit of everything…

Bonus ending…

great black and white image at the top of the blog today Kim! I wonder who that could be?
