Wednesday’s Words

“All that time, you go, ‘God, am I slipping away here?’ And then something great happens, you get a call, and work begets more work.” ~ Billy Crystal

Slipped

Woke up
It’s stirring in my heart
This is it, going to start
It’s my day
Create it my way
Morning went
Had good intentions
Knew I could

Slipped

Had time to begin again
Not early but it’s not the end
Focus and train
Be still my brain

Slipped

Sidetracked
Rerouted
Caved
Forgot

Slipped

Remembered my point
Answered a call
Filled a cup
Wrote a note
But that’s not all

Slipped

Let the day turn
When will it start
Why am I here
Running on this wheel
Numbing to deal

Slipped

Today
I let it slip
Had intentions
Rolling through my veins
Burning desires
Stronger than flames
Blew out the match
Allowed it to pass
This is it
Tomorrow it is
Better not
Slip

“What saves a man is to take a step. Then another step.” ~ Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

  1. I just looked it up, sure enough, that flight of yours lasted longer than a mayflies’ whole existence. Hope you watched a good 10 movies or so – the whole star wars series and a cat nap. Hope all went well! See you soon?!
