Twas a week, plus a few days, before Christmas…
…when all through the one bedroom apartment
Not a bulb was hung, not even the lights were strung.
A neighbor, pulled up her hair, got a third Venti mocha cookie Frappuccino with 2% milk, while dragging the dog here and there.
The children were messy, all stinky in their beds, While the parents disinfected everything including their heads. Then mamma in her plastic gloves, and papa in his scrubs, went to kitchen and took their meds.
When out by the trash they heard something smash.
Pa sprang from his glamping pod, tore open the flap, then instantly went back for a much needed luxurious tent nap.
While a man, a woman, and the other man, I belief, Gave no thought to objects below, like the leaf.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a normal sized green light,
An extra large red,
And a third light that shook its head.
I knew in that moment, when I saw the hose, from whence it grows I do not knows, I must see how it flows!
Then someone whistled, and shouted, and called – stay out!!!
From the bottom of the porch, the bottom of the wall,
It was this punk, He told me to dash away, dash away, dash away - with such gall. So I picked him up and threw him in a pile marked ‘junk’.
