“How do the men who drive the snowplow get to work in the morning?” ~ Steven Wright

I don’t get it …
Is it just me, or is dressing properly for the weather nearly impossible?
It seems warm, it’s warm in my apartment, it’s sunny outside, my weather app says it’s 70 degrees and sunny. I put on shorts and a t-shirt and head outside. I start walking for a block or so and I’m freezing. I look around, everyone else has on jeans, jackets, etc.
Ok …
It seems warm, it’s warm in my apartment, it’s sunny outside, my weather app says it’s 70 degrees and sunny. I’m not falling for this again. I put on my jeans, a jacket and skip out the door. A block into it and I’m peeling off my coat, sweatin’ bullets and everyone else is whizzing by in shorts and tank tops.
Ok …
So I can’t properly dress for the seasons.
Not on my own.
Not yet.
Until then, I have a jacket, scarf, and an umbrella that I’ll have to carry home from work today while fending off the heat and searching for sidewalks with shade to navigate down. While everyone else moving about will be whizzing by me, carefree and properly dressed. I’ll be the girl with hands full of excess garments and a summer weight scarf, extremely long but stylish, lagging behind me.
Say hello if you see me.

In memory of Charles Grodin, I came across this interview on YouTube I hadn’t seen before. I had no idea Grodin was such an amazing photographer. I am so grateful for him and all of his work. He always made me laugh. Still laughing. So much love and gratitude.
