A Brooklyn Tale

  • But first, can I offer you a Squirt?
  • Or something lighter?
How about an avocado? Half or whole?
Or this stuff?

… Ok, now, on with the tale.

This is The Dez Tippy, also known as The Cleaners.
The owner of this laundry joint is not Dez, but Clifford, who, let’s just say for familial reasons, employs his brother Loopy Charley, and rest assured there’s no work gettin’ done on-premise when he’s in. He’s crazy. The gang doesn’t hang out here, but they sometimes drop off their dry cleaning if Charlie’s not around.
Speaking of Clifford, here he is, Clifford the Camper. Everybody loves Clifford. They fear him more than they love him, but only his waste, not his strength. Just to be clear.
Oh and look, there they are, Juniper Johnson and his son, Hopper, known as Lil’ Hop. They moved into their car camper first. Juniper is beyond irritated with Clifford’s camping waste removal and recycling habits. Lil’ Hop was told not to go around Clifford or his tent. He’ll understand why when he’s older and watches some environmental videos and reads some pamphlets.
  • This here is Tony Two because he never rides alone.
  • Anthony needs another person in his car at all times because he loves to talk about the newest restaurants in the neighborhood and what you should order when you go. Because you have to try it!
And this is Freddie Frutay named because of his fruity selection of sunglasses. Don’t let him get too close to the school children though, he’s been known to take their shades. But Freddie Frutay always gives them back. He’s actually really nice.
And this is where the neighborhood creates and nourishes its ever-expanding population. Also known as date night, Brooklyn style.
