Side effects are too soon to tell.

“An artist discovers his genius the day he dares not to please.” ~ Andre Malraux

Love this one! And you gave me my new motto when I sit down to write: “An artist discovers his genius the day he dares not to please” – no more trying to please myself or anyone else!

Yes, exactly!! It’s the only way we’ll ever have any originality/authenticity. I have to remind myself of this often – I love messing with words and using them in my own way – every time I consider what others will think of my grammar, jokes, or stories and edit them to adapt – then they never come out the way I imagined. Lifeless. Speak from your heart… write what you think and feel, be you, we need that! It also reminds me of another quote that can go side by side with this one on our desks, “Those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” ~Bernard Baruch.♥️
