She seems nice…

I like when I’m with another person, let’s say I’m with my friend, Steve, and we run into someone I know, let’s say her name is Samantha, and I introduce Steve and Samantha to each other, then we chat for a few brief moments and part ways.

Moments later – Steve says, “She seems nice.”

It always comes across to me as – she seems nice. But, yeah… I’m not buying it.

Then I could say something like – “Samantha gave her extra kidney to a stranger, started a charity that has fed over a billion people, and composts everything in her little studio apartment.”

Steve’s response would be – “That sounds nice.”

So, I say, “We can still catch happy hour at Threes Brewery if we hurry. It could be fun.”

“No, it will be fun; the best thing I’ve heard all day,” Steve says.

Later that night, Samantha calls, and before hanging up, she says, “Your friend Steve seems nice.”

“Yeah, he’s an ass.”
